Tips For Healing a Breakout Fast

RELAX: Perfect skin isn't real; real skin ISN'T PERFECT. As a human being, you will get a few blemishes now and again, even with the perfect skincare routine. I should know i dedicated my entire career and livelihood to skincare and still have a breakout as I'm typing this.

  1. Ice instead of pick: Ice will calm the swelling and redness. NO steam or hot compress. Heat is inflammatory.

  2. Keep it protected from the sun: it's a common misconception that the sun dries out acne and makes it go away. In reality, leaving an acne lesion exposed to the sun will cause PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation); you know, the dark mark that is leftover after you break out that takes forever to fade? Acne is an open wound your body is trying to protect by depositing pigment around the tiny injury.

  3. Spot treat at night: spot treatments can contain active ingredients that cause photosensitivity, so use them when you're in for the night.

  4. Hydrate the skin with a non-comedogenic serum and moisturizers like Face Reality Skincare Hydrablance, Clearderma, or Cranpeptide.

6. LED: Its easy, clinically proven, non-invasive light therapy will oxygenate the bacteria deep inside the pore and soothe redness and swelling. It's completely painless and suitable for any skin type. You will find it in my facial treatments.

Don't expect your breakout to disappear magically. Be patient and kind with yourself. Your skin will thank you. I hope this helps you make smart skincare decisions in the future!
