Camping Skincare Essentials
It's finally here camping and festival season! I'm giving you a free pass to be lazy and do the bare minimum for a few days. Don't pack all your fancy stuff. Focus on the basics and treat yourself to a deep cleansing treatment when you're back.
Here's a quick list of my must-haves for camping trips.
Face Reality Skin Care Hydrabalance Gel- Its aloe and hyaluronic acid to replace lost moisture and soothe the skin.
Sun protection- SPF is an absolute must.
A spray-on SPF is a go-to of mine when camping since my hands are usually filthy. It doesn't have to cost a lot. Anything you find at the drugstore is fine.
A brush-on sunscreen is a must-have. It won't go bad if you leave it in the hot sun, and it will give you a nice matte finish. I use my powder SPF on my scalp to keep my part line from getting burnt.
Keep in mind that powder or spray sunscreens are only adequate for reapplication. You should start every day with a generous amount of a broad-spectrum, water-resistant SPF 50 lotion. Cover your face, neck, chest, and ears. Reapply a few times a day. My recommendation is on the amazon page.
I also like a sunless tanner with SPF for my face instead of packing makeup.
Micellar water- any kind will do. Put some cotton rounds in a sandwich bag, saturate them with the liquid and leave the bottle at home. Micellar water was formulated to be used backstage at fashion shows to remove makeup without water quickly. It's perfect for camping but not suitable for an everyday cleanser.
Aquaphor- Use it for lip balm or irritated skin. There is nothing worse than having chapped lips when you're trying to have fun! Don't forget to protect your lips with SPF too.
That's all! I hope this helps you make smart skin care decisions this camping season!
